Learning a New Way
Throughout my learning career I have struggled with writing papers and essays, but I could always read really well. As I got older though I started to see that I had always been making them harder than they needed to be. Writing started coming easy as soon as I wrote the first sentence, it was like the words just came to me. Towards the end of high school I had a class that I had to write multiple papers, as well as a research project, and starting each of them was the most difficult part, and most of the time the worst part of my paper. In this particular class my teacher helped me to see that and recommended something I had never thought of. He said “If you have such trouble writing your intro why don’t you write it after you finish the paper.” That really stuck with me, even confused me, but after trying it throughout the class it made so much sense. How can you write an intro to a paper that isn’t written? All it took was to change the way I had always done papers start to finish, and suddenly my papers were cleaner, they flowed better. As the class came to a close my papers had actually shown improvement, especially in the intro parts. After He taught me this it changed how I wrote papers, and made the writing process so much less stressful.
